The Charlotte Independence leave North Carolina for the first time in this young 2016 USL season. The Good Guys head up north to take on FC Cincinnati who are in their inagural season in the league and features former Colorado Rapids striker Omar Cummings.
The Goal for Charlotte: Pick up a road result
What to Watch For
1) A Huge Crowd--this is the home opener for FC Cincinnati and according to this article they could be looking at the biggest crowd in USL this season. 12,000 is the expected turnout which is pretty darn awesome.
2) The Road Test--I have made mention of this before but for the Independence to be successful this year they have to find a way to be successful on the road. They struggled mightily in 2015 with just two wins, so the chance to pick up a road against the expansion FCC, is there. Can Charlotte do it?
