The Colorado Rapids will look to make it four wins from four at home as the Rocky Mountain side will welcome the Seattle Sounders to Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday evening. Temperatures should be decently warm compared to just a week ago when a spring blizzard surprised many in the Denver metro area.
Colorado (4-2-1, 13 points) are currently 3rd place in the Western table, just behind Real Salt Lake. The Rapids came away with a 2-1 win over visiting New York Red Bulls on the weekend in a snowstorm that reminded many of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualfier played at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in 2013. That match featured the United States and Costa Rica, which the USA won 1-0 courtesy of a Clint Dempsey goal. Jermaine Jones scored on his Rapids debut and led the club to victory over the Red Bulls.
Seattle (2-3-1, 7 points) have had a slow start to the campaign, but were victorious on Saturday evening with a 2-1 victory over Philadelphia Union at CenturyLink Field. Seattle are unbeaten in their past three games, but did start the season with three consecutive losses. Jordan Morris scored his first professional goal for Seattle in the victory over Philadelphia as well.
The Rapids will be without the services of maestro midfielder Marco Pappa, after the Guatemalan international was injured in the win over New York in the blizzard-like conditions. Dominique Badji will likely start in his place while Jermaine Jones is expected to once again be an attacking midfielder. Colorado has historically struggled against Seattle, but the team is playing with a lot of confidence and another win at Dick's Sporting Goods Park for the Rapids would be a fantastic result.
