Marco Pappa out 2-4 weeks with MCL Sprain

After coming off with a knock in the 73rd minute against New York, Pappa will miss some time to recover.

The Colorado Rapids reported that Marco Pappa will miss 2-4 weeks with a Medial Cruciate Ligament strain, after an awkward collision in the 70th minute with Kemar Lawrence.

Here's the injury.

...

Pappa joins an already crowded Rapids injured list, as Sean St Ledger (knee), Kevin Doyle (shin), Marlon Hairston (hamstring) and Jared Watts (hamstring) are all currently listed as injured. In addition, Axel Sjoberg was also held out of last week's matches.

Pappa had one goal and three assists through the Rapids first seven games, on 14 shots, 7 of them on target. He also is third on the team in Key Passes per Game, with 1.9, and leads the team in Take-on Dribbles, with 1.4 Dribbles per Game: twice as many as the next-nearest Rapids player.

His sharp passing and ability to make dangerous dribbles into the final third made him one of the driving engines of the Rapids offense up to this point. The burgundy will need to fill the big offensive hole Pappa leaves for a few weeks while he recovers, as they face Seattle at home this Saturday, April  23, Montreal on the road on April 30, and Real Salt Lake at home on May 7.

Attacking midfielders Dillon Powers, Dillon Serna, Dominique Badji, and Zach Pfeffer would be the most likely candidates to take Pappa's place this week.

Who do you think should get the start in Pappa's place over on that right side, Rapids fans?
