The FIFA Simulation--Colorado Rapids 4:1 New York Red Bulls

The Rapids and Red Bulls play (hopefully) tonight. Here is how FIFA16 says it will go.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Rapids and New York Red Bulls are scheduled to meet tonight at 7 PM at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and regardless of what the weather does, here is what FIFA had to say about the match:

This was all Rapids from the beginning to the end of the match.  There really was just one team in it and yet the Rapids found themselves down 1-0 after 15 minutes.  The Rapids lost Bradley Wright-Phillips (not sure how that happens) and BWP made them pay.  The Rapids continued to crash the goal but could not find a goal as Luis Robles was outstanding today coming through with a total of 8 saves.

The second half was a different story as Sam Cronin, Marco Pappa, Zach Pfeffer and Dillon Serna all scored for the Rapids.  The game ended 4-1 to the Rapids and that was the right result based on how well the Burgundy Boys played.  They had solid passes, good movement and were able to shut down most Red Bull attacks.  A solid game from the Rapids.

The Rapids Starting XI:

Zac MacMath, Marc Burch, Bobby Burling, Eric Miller, Mekeil Williams, Jermaine Jones, Sam Cronin, Shkelzen Gashi, Marco Pappa, Dillon Serna, Luis Solignac

Match Moments

5th Min: CHANCE--Jermaine Jones makes his presence felt as he rips a shot from outside the 18 which forces the NY into a smart save

9th Min: CHANCE--Sam Cronin has a shot that goes just wide.  All Rapids in the early moments of this one!

12th Min: BOOKING--New York Red Bulls are shown the Yellow Card

12th Min: CROSSBAR--the resulting free kick from the booking sees Dillon Serna hit the crossbar!  What a chance for the Rapids Homegrown player!!!

15th Min: GOAL--against the run of play and the Red Bulls take the lead as the Rapids let Bradley Wright-Phillips walk through the defense.

21st Min: CHANCE--how have the Rapids not scored yet?  Gashi with an excellent shot that is somehow saved and the Rapids just can't believe it.

22nd Min: CHANCE--Now it's Pappa's turn and his fine effort is saved.  Wow.

24th Min: CHANCE--Pappa with an excellent cross that falls to Cronin who sees his shot saved.  The Rapids are absolutely throwing everything at New York right now.

31st Min: CHANCE--the Rapids are just so unlucky.  Gashi sees his effort hit another Rapids player and into the waiting arms of Luis Robles.

34th Min: CHANCE--Gashi is having a hell of a game, but still can't find the back of the net as his shot is saved again by Robles.

47th Min: GOAL--it's been a long time coming and it comes off the foot of Cronin from 23 yards out and he levels it for the Rapids

58th Min: CHANCE--Williams with a chance but he hammers it high and wide.

64th Min: GOAL--Pappa gives the Rapids the lead with a great shot that beats Robles on his left side.  2-1 Rapids now.

67th Min: SUB--Micheal Azira takes the field for Pappa.

69th Min: BOOKING--Jones is shown the Yellow Card

71st Min: SUB--Dillon Powers enters the game for Cronin and takes the CAM role

72nd Min: CHANCE--Powers almost scores on his first touch, but the ball scoots wide of the net.

74th Min: SUB--Jones is replaced by Zach Pfeffer

76th Min: GOAL--Pfeffer extends the Rapids lead by weaving his way through the Red Bulls defense to make it 3-1 to the good guys!

78th Min: CHANCE--Pfeffer works it again through the Red Bulls defense and passes to Solignac who misses just left!

82nd Min: GOAL--Serna makes it four for the Rapids!  From outside of the box he blasts it low and to the left side of the goal
