The Colorado Rapids will return to the friendly confines of Dick's Sporting Goods Park after two consecutive away matches. Weather conditions could be on the cold and snowy side as the forecast is calling for another spring snowstorm in the Denver metro area. However, snowstorms like this aren't uncommon for this region during the spring months. Jermaine Jones will be available for selection as the United States international has completed his 6-game suspension.

Colorado (3-2-1, 10 pts) are coming off a surprise 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City at Children's Mercy Park on Wednesday evening. Luis Solignac and Shkelzen Gashi both found the scoresheet as the Rapids overcame a hostile environment and tallied another three points in the standings. Dom Dwyer scored for the hosts, but his strike would eventually prove to be in vein.

New York (1-5-0, 3 pts) were on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline in San Jose on Wednesday. Fatai Alashe and Chris Wondolowski scored on either side of halftime to condemn the Red Bulls to their 5th defeat of the season. The Red Bulls will be facing a Rapids side that is growing in confidence and New York has not found Dick's Sporting Goods Park favorable in recent years.

Rapids head coach Pablo Mastroeni went on a bizarre post-game speech where he appeared to be philosophical about our existance on this planet. Regardless, emotions were at a high and Mastroeni was in no doubt pleased with the result in Kansas after a heartbreaking loss in Salt Lake City on the weekend.
