Wow. Such an emotional game midweek in Kansas City.

The Colorado Rapids beat Sporting Kansas City 2-1 in an exciting match. It was a match where the Colorado Rapids only had 35 percent possession.

The scoring started late in the first half when Marco Pappa stole the ball and fed a perfectly weighted ball to Luis Solignac who went near post to beat Tim Meila.

In the second half, the Rapids parked the bus and held on until the 77' when they somehow let Dom Dwyer get lose in the box and he headed it home. But the fortune changed for the Rapids in the 82' when Dillon Serna took a shot from distance that came off the crossbar and fell to Shkelzen Gashi who skipped it past Meila.

With a depleted lineup and a couple of the regular starters not in the lineup, this is a huge win. It was a big win regardless.
