March Hair Madness RESULTS! - TYHAC Bracket Round 1

New, 1 comment

The results are in for the 'Turn Your Head and Coif' Bracket! There are pie charts, because everyone knows that pie charts demonstrate objectively factual things.

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

There were some stiff competitions in the first week, but I think the right haircuts came out a-head (did I use that pun last week? I might have used that pun last week). Here's the results. For the original photos that went with this bracket, go here.

...

No surprise here that Lee Nguyen wins, and by a lot. But the significant vote count for Myers may indicate Nguyen's hair may not be the juggernaut I thought it would be. We'll see.

...

Oyongo gets absolutely crushed. And rightfully so: Jermaine Jones is a Colorado Rapids player, and a new signing, and a USMNT hero, and a guy with awesome hair. I might has well asked whether Odell's was better than Corona. News flash: it is.

...

Our first upset! Afful's nifty 'doo beats out Borchers' sweet beard. Perhaps the fans are traditionalists- an MLS hair competition is about head hair, not facial hair.

...

Again, this one wasn't a surprise either. Oduro has the kind of hair that, even if you don't like it, you respect it.

...

I was really pulling for the rookie Endoh here, but it wasn't to be. Both have unique heads of hair, but only one can advance, and it's the MLS Cup champ Kamara.

...

I'm proud of you, people. I thought the RSL-hate would doom Beckerman to an early tourney exit, but the people of Burgundy Wave have spoken, and they believe in hair before hate. Kamara-Beckerman in the sweet 16 is a great matchup, too, that I think will be won by a hair (Hah! Sorry.)

...

I thought this one would be closer: Koffie has similar hair to Afful, but with cool detail work. I guess people like simplicity. And product. Bingham advances.

...

In the final matchup, USMNT U23 Will Trapp gets a consolation prize for losing both MLS Cup and getting knocked out of the Olympics by... finding out from an obscure blog that he has better hair than Lucas Melano. So that's... something.

That's it for this round! Stay tuned for results from the 'Flock of Seagulls' bracket, coming on Saturday!

Vote over there if you haven't already.

If you have - vote again. The BWave hair tourney is just like Chicago, folks. Vote early, vote often.
