USMNT vs Guatemala: How to Watch, TV Information, and More

World Cup Qualifying continues as the United States takes on Guatemala on Friday night.

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

The United States in Guatemala City to play the Guatemalan national team tonight with a great opportunity to take a major step in World Cup Qualifying.   They are currently first in their group and a victory over Guatemala tonight will go a very long way to making the Hexagonal round.

The Goal for the USMNT:  Get a road result (preferably a win)

What to Watch For

1)  The GK Battle: This one starts and ends with who is in goal.  There are four options on this team, but it really comes down to just two:  Tim Howard and Brad Guzan.  Neither keeper is in spectacular form as Howard has been benched at Everton and Guzan plays for Aston Villa.  I have to think Howard gets the start here, and there seems to be some agreement with that:

2)  A Fresh Start: It's been well documented that 2015 was a bad year for the USMNT, but they have a real opportunity to take a major step in erasing those memories.  Win tonight and on Tuesday and you can pretty much count on them making the Hex.  But they have to be willing and able to take that step.  Can they?
