The Colorado Rapids will look to build after an uplifting victory over LA Galaxy as they travel to the nation's capital on Sunday afternoon. DC United will welcome the Rapids to RFK Stadium in a nationally televised game that will be on ESPN2. Shkelzen Gashi will miss the match as the Albanian international will serve a 1-match suspension after the MLS Disciplinary Committee ruled that the forward entered the field of play during stoppage time after being substituted.

Colorado (1-1-0, 3 points) was on cloud nine after Marco Pappa scored a dramatic stoppage time winner against LA Galaxy on the weekend. Few observers would disagree with the assessment that game was largely a snoozefest with both teams struggling to create valid chances on target, but it was the Rocky Mountain side that came out on top. The win gives not only the Rapids but the fans a much needed boost and a fantastic way to cap off the home opener for 2016.

DC United (0-1-1, 1 point) will have their first home game of the season after traveling to Los Angeles and the Boston metro area for their first two games of the season. The capital club was able to earn a point in a 0-0 draw against New England Revolution on the weekend. So far DC United has managed one goal in two matches courtesy of Lamar Neagle.

Rapids head coach Pablo Mastroeni will be delighted with the win over LA Galaxy but will need to stress calm as DC United are a tough team despite getting blown out in the first week. They can be a formidable side at home and RFK Stadium has been a difficult place for Colorado to get results in recent years. Shkelzen Gashi will definitely be missed but it's possible Marco Pappa can get his first start with the Rapids on Sunday afternoon.
