Major League Soccer is in its third week and again all 20 teams are in action before the International Break. For the Colorado Rapids, it means a trip to Washington DC to face struggling D.C. United. Here is how the rest of the schedule breaks out:
Friday, 18 March 2016
New York City FC vs Orlando City--5:00 PM MDT--Yankee Stadium--UniMas
NYCFC and OCSC are both coming off disappointing draws in which both felt they should have taken all three points. This match is a measuring stick for both second year teams and I think NYCFC gets the win
Saturday, 19 March 2016
Chicago Fire vs Columbus Crew SC--3:00 PM MDT--Toyota Park--MLS Live
If I would have told you that the Fire would have more points than the Crew after two matches you would have said I am full of it. And yet, here we are. That being said, Columbus has way too much talent to not win this one.
New York Red Bulls vs Houston Dynamo--5:00 PM MDT--Red Bull Arena--MLS Live
The Dynamo kicked the crap out of Dallas last week and the Metros got their asses kicked in Montreal. This is another measuring stick match and I think that the Metros finally win and beat an overrated Dynamo team.
FC Dallas vs Montreal Impact--7:00 PM MDT--Toyota Stadium--MLS Live
I like this match. A lot. Montreal is riding high after two huge wins and FCD will be licking their wounds after the ass kicking from last weekend. Dallas win.
Seattle Sounders vs Vancouver Whitecaps--8:00 PM MDT--Century Link Field--MLS Live
Seattle and Vancouver are both struggling right now but are both better than their records would suggest. This will be a very good game that I think ends in a draw.
LA Galaxy vs San Jose Earthquakes--8:30 PM MDT--StubHub Center--MLS Live
San Jose has yet to play away from home and LA will be happy to be home so they can't complain about altitude or wind. I do not know which of these teams are good or bad, but I am going to go with the home team.
Portland Timbers vs Real Salt Lake--8:30 PM MDT--Providence Park--MLS Live
I am pretty sure Portland will win this game. But....RSL can score, but they can't defend anything. Call it a Timbers win.
Sunday, 20 March 2016
Philadelphia Union vs New England Revolution--12:30 PM MDT--Talen Energy Stadium--MLS Live
This is a weird game for me. It has the chance of being sneaky good and I have no reason why. So it will probably be a boring 0-0 tie. Regardless, this one has draw written all over it.
D.C. United vs Colorado Rapids--3:00 PM MDT--RFK Stadium--ESPN2
Well....Shkelzen Gashi is out for the Rapids. And DC is not a good team right now. Not sure what either has to do with the other, but screw it. Call this a Rapids upset win.
Sporting Kansas City vs Toronto FC--5:00 PM MDT--Children's Mercy Park--Fox Sports 1
The game of the weekend is the last one. I like this one as a 2-2 draw and possible MLS Cup preview.
