The Beginners Guide to Dick's Sporting Goods Park

The Rapids open their home slate this weekend and maybe this is your first trip out to Dick's. Here is a guide to help you out!

When the Colorado Rapids take the field on Saturday afternoon at 5:00 PM it will most definitely be a festive and fun atmosphere.  And with the opponent being the star-studded LA Galaxy, there is extra incentive to get this one done and play lights out soccer.  For many of us, we have been out to Dick's Sporting Goods Park many times, but for some this may be their first trip.  So we here at Burgundy Wave put together this helpful guide to navigate your DSGP experience.

Pre-Game

There are a number of ways to enjoy your pre-game festivities at a Rapids game.  If you are looking for a restaurant experience before, The Shops at Northfield Stapleton have a number of good places to eat and most are reasonably priced and family friendly.

But if you are into a tailgate, there are a couple of Supporters Groups options for you.  Centennial 38, the official Supporters Group of the Rapids, always has a large tailgate that features fresh made food and a variety of beer options.  The tailgate can be found on the southern part of the DSGP complex near the VIP parking lots.  A second supporters group, Stout Street Bulldogs, offers a tailgate as well in Season Ticket Holder Lot A.

Regardless of whether you go to a restaurant or hang out with one of our Supporters Groups, a good time can be had by all before a Rapids match!   (And yes, you can grill and have adult beverages in the lot even if you are not with a Supporters Group)

And don't forget the Bud Concert Series that takes place south of 1876 in the parking lot!  (1876 is a pub attached to Dick's Sporting Goods Park and is open before and after the match)

During the Match

So you are inside Dick's and you are wondering what to do?  Well, there are food concessions throughout the park and offer your standard park food.  Burgers, Dogs, Brats, Popcorn, Nachos, etc.  The concessions stands got you covered.  There are also a number of places that sell adult beverages (beer, wine, spirits) and many of those places also sell water and Coke products.

Should you need souvenirs there are a couple of options--the first is the main team store located on the West concourse.  This has the largest selection of Rapids gear at the park, but it not the only one.  There is an additional store on the Southwest corner (near section 114) and there are a few free standing options as well.

Supporters Sections

Rapids supporters are the most passionate fans that we have and also make the atmosphere what it is at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.  You can find Centennial 38 in the Terrace, Section 108 and Section 117 where they are joined by Stout Street.  Whether you belong to one of these two groups or not, get involved and sing and chant with them!

Post Game

After the match is over, head on over to 1876 where you can get a post game beverage and meet the Man of the Match!  (plus it gives you a chance to let traffic clear)

No matter whether you tailgate or not, enjoy your time at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and join the crowd as we all Bleed Burgundy!
