The United States Women's National Team plays Canada in the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Championship today at 3PM in Houston in a match that does not have a whole lot in the way of implications as both teams have qualified for the Rio Games.
But don't think this one doesn't matter.
What to Watch For:
1) History--Canada and the USWNT have a storied history and have had a number of big battles, and none more so than the 2012 Olympic games. Canada blew two leads in the 4-3 win for the USWNT in the semifinals match including a controversial penalty awarded to the USA in the 80th minute. And the US won in the 123 minute to advance to the gold medal game.
2) The Teams: The USA is ranked #1 in the world and Canada is ranked at #11. These are two good teams feature some of the best footballers in the world. Although this game doesn't mean a whole lot (as both have qualified) but they will both be up for it. Can Crystal Dunn continue her fantastic run? Will Christine Sinclair for Canada score another hat-trick against the USA? This will be a good one.
