Colorado Rapids Sign Striker

As expected, the Rapids added attacking depth

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Rapids announced today that they had acquired Albanian Striker Shkëlzen Gashi as a Designated Player who will begin playing for the Burgundy Boys for the 2016 season.  This is a significant move for the Rapids as they were in dire need of attacking options and Gashi should fill a hole for the team.

So what do we know about him?

1)  He Can Score--Since 2012 he has made 127 appearances for his club teams and has scored 66 times.

2)  A Designated Striker--this is the second major attacking option the Rapids have added in the last nine months.   Coupled with Kevin Doyle, the Rapids *could* be more potent up front.

3)  Ownership Commitment--You may not like the owners of the Rapids, but you can't accuse them of not putting their money where their mouths are.  They are spending money on the team.  What can be debated is whether or not the money is being put in the right place.

So what do you think Rapids fans?  Are you excited about this move?  Let us know in the comment sections below!
