Western Conference Finals Leg 1: How to Watch #SEAvCOL

The Colorado Rapids are in Seattle to take on the Sounders tonight at CenturyLink Field.

After the last couple seasons, none of us would have ever thought that we’d still be here, in November, talking about the Colorado Rapids. But here we are, and man, is it exciting! While I can’t wait to see the Burgundy Boys at home next week, tonight’s game is really important. The Seattle Sounders are 8-0-2 in their last 10 home games, including a 3-0 victory over the Supporters’ Shield winners, FC Dallas in the first round of the playoffs.

As you know, Zac MacMath is stepping in for the injured Tim Howard, and we don’t expect to see Gashi out on the pitch today. Marco Pappa has something going on with his hamstring, but wasn’t on the questionable list, so hopefully he’s good to go. Everyone else seems to be healthy. On the Sounders side, a lot of big names are questionable today, which could work in our favor.

I think the biggest key to today’s game is to shut down Nicolas Lodiero and the offense. I would love to see the Rapids get an away goal or two and a win today, but a tie or a 1-0 loss would work as well, because we all know how things go once they come back to Colorado. We absolutely cannot let Seattle go up by more than one goal, or things will definitely be more complicated for Leg 2.

Much like the entire season, the Rapids are still underestimated, and despite the Sounders coming in at a lower seed, are the favorites to win today. But I trust that our Rapids will #KeepFighting, just like they have all season. Let’s get that W!

OUT: Dillon Serna (knee), Tim Howard (adductor)

QUESTIONABLE: Shkëlzen Gashi (ankle)

QUESTIONABLE: Olex Anderson (hamstring), Alvaro Fernandez (hamstring), Andreas Ivanschitz (knee), Jordan Morris (hamstring)
