The Colorado Rapids came home and but their unbeaten streak on the line against the Portland Timbers. The Rapids not only kept their unbeaten streak alive, they earned all three points with a 1-0 win over the Timbers.

The Timbers came out strong looking for a win as they fight to get back into the playoffs after winning the MLS Cup last year. This resulted with most of the possession in the Rapids defensive half. But the Rapids did not break.

The Rapids got on the board in the second half when Marlon Hairston wiggled through the right side of the box and crossed it. After a small deflection by Dominique Badji, the ball found Sebastien Le Toux who put it into the back of the net.

Except for the shot that went off the post, the Timbers did not have a good opportunity all evening.
