Who doesn't love a good transfer rumor!
And if you are a supporter of the Colorado Rapids a rumor--any rumor--is a positive thing. Now, with any transfer window rumor, take it with a grain of salt. People say things all the time about this player being linked with this team or whatnot. But when the Rapids get involved I get a little excited (and quite frankly hopeful).
The Rapids are being linked with Colombian striker Cristian Canga who currently plays for Atletico Huila in the Colombian first division. Canga is 22 years old (he turns 23 in February) and has been playing professionally in Colombia since 2012.
There is not a lot of information out there on Canga right now and it is not clear if this would be a loan or a purchase situation, but the Rapids are certainly in need of forward depth. As of today, they have Kevin Doyle, Luis Solignac, Caleb Calvert and Dominique Badji under contract for 2016. That will not cut it if they are going to make a run at the playoffs.
We will continue to monitor this possible transaction as the Rapids look to build towards 2016.
