RUMOR: Rapids after fullback Mekeil Williams

A completely unsubstantiated rumor from the blogo-twitter-wikisphere.

The Colorado Rapids are being linked via rumor to fullback Mekeil Williams who currently for Antigua in Guatemala. Here's the post:

If this rumor is true, this would be a critical step for the Rapids as they look to continue their march to the 2016 season.  They are incredibly thin along the back line and there have been some jokes about needing to grab people off the street to play for the team.

But all joking aside, Williams is a young defender who has made 18 appearances for his current club and who has been capped ten times by the Trinidad & Tobago national team chipping in one goal.  My concern with Williams is that he has not made many first team appearances for his club teams (just 35 in total) and the step from the Guatemalan league to Major League Soccer is a step in class.

However, the Rapids need defenders, and short of signing Richard Terry, the Rapids need to do something and quickly.
