Bobby Burling Signs Contract to Return to Rapids

Heck yeah!

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Honestly, I don't know why I am so excited by this:

The Colorado Rapids announced today that they re-signed defender Bobby Burling to a new deal to return for the 2016 season.  From Paul Bravo, Technical Director and VP of Soccer Operations:

"This is an important step as we build our roster for 2016 (and) Bobby is a tremendously popular player in the group, adding leadership and experience. He was a key member of the squad last season and we are delighted to have him back."

Burling was not the flashiest of players for the Rapids last season but was overall very solid.   He played nearly 2,000 minutes and scored two goals for the Burgundy Boys (which put him in the running for the Golden Boot).  But he does bring that veteran leadership that the Rapids will need along the backline and is very serviceable and could be a starter from day one.

So what do you think Rapids fans?  Are you excited about Burling coming back?  Let us know!
