MLS Viewing Guide, Week 27

A very light week in Major League Soccer as the International Break hits MLS hard.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Major League Soccer has a mere five games to take care of your football fix this weekend as the International Break has hit and for the ten teams in action they would probably like to be off and resting players.  Let alone playoff positioning being determined by squads that are not full.

Off this Week: D.C. United, New York Red Bulls, New York City FC, LA Galaxy, Vancouver Whitecaps, Sporting Kansas City, Portland Timbers, Houston Dynamo, Colorado Rapids, Real Salt Lake

Saturday, September 5

New England Revolution vs Orlando City--5:30 PM MDT--Gillette Stadium (MLS Live)

This is an interesting matchup for two teams needing the points as the playoffs are getting closer and for Orlando City they REALLY need this one.  But it will not happen as the Revs are playing good football and are at home.  Win for New England.

Montreal Impact vs Chicago Fire--6:00 PM MDT--Stade Saputo (MLS Live)

Another matchup for two teams needing the points.  Montreal fired their coach this week and have everything going for them in this one.  They are at home with games in hand, but Chicago is coming off a good week that featured a win and a draw.  I think that Montreal will struggle and Chicago will surprise and grab a win.

Seattle Sounders vs Toronto FC--8:00 PM MDT--Century Link Field (MLS Live)

The Game of the Weekend as the Reds head west to take on an underperforming Sounders team.  I think that Toronto has the skills and firepower to beat Seattle.  But they have a disastrous defense and I think Seattle takes full advantage and grabs the win.

San Jose Earthquakes vs Philadelphia Union--8:30 PM MDT--Avaya Stadium (MLS Live)

The Union are a dumpster fire and I just don't see a way that they win this one.  Quakes win easily.

Columbus Crew SC vs FC Dallas--5:00 PM MDT--MAPFRE Stadium (Fox Sports 1)

Don't laugh, but this is a legit MLS Cup preview.  Both of these teams have the ability get on the run that will be needed to capture the cup, but in this one it feels like an entertaining draw.
