It has not been the best of years for Colorado Rapids forward Gabriel Torres, but he did receive another call-up for the Panamanian National Team for two October friendlies. This is a nice trend for Torres as he also was with Panama for their third place finish at the 2015 Gold Cup and despite his struggles this season he is still getting called up. (I should add the usual disclaimer that I don't think it is necessarily his fault)
This does cause some issues for the Rapids in October with a couple of important home matches. Although playoffs are no longer realistic (despite this tweet) the Rapids have a shot at the Rocky Mountain Cup:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Rapids96?src=hash">#Rapids96</a> have a 0.9% chance of making the playoffs. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/SoYoureSayingTheresAChance?src=hash">#SoYoureSayingTheresAChance</a> <a href="https://t.co/NMQuIhoU5j">https://t.co/NMQuIhoU5j</a></p>— The Rapids Rabbi (@rapidsrabbi) <a href="https://twitter.com/rapidsrabbi/status/646322236245217280">September 22, 2015</a></blockquote>

The RMC will be won (or lost) on October 4 and the Rapids could be missing both Kevin Doyle and Dillon Serna for that match. It looks like Torres will be here for the RMC match, but certainly will miss the October 10 home match against Montreal Impact. There will be some that say it would not matter what the Rapids put out there, but if the Rapids are going to beat Real Salt Lake and bring the Cup back to Colorado, Torres will be needed.
