#OneClub Report: A Brace, Some Legends, and Transfer Deadline Day

Charlotte had a match last night with a brace from Rapids forward Dominique Badji

The Colorado Rapids do not have a match until this Saturday vs Columbus Crew SC, but that does not mean that it has been a quiet couple of days for the #OneClub.

The #OneClub Report--Midweek Edition:

1) Disappointment in Charlotte: The Charlotte Independence had a home match last night and have to be feeling a bit of disappointment after drawing 2-2 with New York Red Bulls II.  Charlotte had a 2-1 lead in the second half but had to settle for an unsatisfying draw that still leaves them on the outside of the USL Eastern Conference playoff picture.

2) A Brace for Badji: Dominique Badji started for the Independence and bagged a brace for Charlotte with goals in the 24th and 45th minute.  Alas, it was not as Charlotte tied 2-2, but the goals were the third and fourth for Badji for the #OneClub as he continues a very solid rookie year.  In addition to Badji, Caleb Calvert, Ben Newnam and Carlos Alvarez all featured for Charlotte.

3) It is Transfer Deadline Day: For MLS, that is.  There have been a million rumors out there and I am sure that there will be a million more before 3:00 PM MDT (the cut-off) but the question for Rapids fans is whether the team will do anything in this window.  There is always this:

Now, I don't think that is going to happen, but it would not be a complete shocker to see the Rapids make some moves before this day is up.  What could happen?  No idea, but a move or two is not out of the question.

4)  Wanna play footy: The Rapids earlier this week announced that fans will have a chance to suit up and play with Rapids and Mexican National team legends.  This is an AMAZING opportunity for fans to live out a dream (OK, maybe just me) and give it a go with Brian Mullan, Terry Cooke and Marcelo Balboa.

I am not good enough to play (if you saw me in the MLS All-Star Media Cup, you get it) anymore, but boy, that would be sweet!
