So much has been said over this season about the fate of the Colorado Rapids and whether or not changes should be made. Burgundy Wave has had a number of great articles about all of this and we, like many Rapids fans, have been frustrated by what has transpired.
But Saturday something changed.
The Rapids played wonderful attacking soccer.
The Rapids played great defense.
The Rapids had terrific individual performances from Clint Irwin, Sean St. Ledger, Vicente Sanchez, Kevin Doyle and Maynor Figueroa.
They played like the team that fans had been hoping for since Pablo Mastroeni took over as Gaffer one week before the start of the 2014 season.
Does this signal a turn around? Does this mean the Rapids will go on and make the playoffs? Well, they have won six of nine games and are out of last place for the first time in....a very, very long time. They are on 33 points but still are five points out of a playoff spot. What I wrote last week still stands...I think it is a very, very long shot for them to make it.
But there is hope. And that is something you could not have said four weeks ago.
So who was your Colorado Rapids Man of the Match? Let your voice be heard!
