#OneClub Report: Rumors and Winning Streaks

A weekend of streak ending for the #OneClub

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The #OneClub had a mixed bag of results this weekend as the Colorado Rapids saw their three game winning streak snapped with a loss to LA Galaxy at home on Saturday.  Things were very different for Charlotte Independence as they became the first team in USL to defeat Rochester Rhinos in a 4-2 win at Ramblewood in Charlotte.

The #OneClub Report:

1)  Charlotte and that Win: Great stuff from the Independence last night as they were able to stop an amazing run of form by USL leading Rochester Rhinos at Ramblewood.  Colorado Rapids loanee Carlos Alvarez netted for the Independence in the match that also had Ben Newnam and Dominique Badji see time.  With the victory, Charlotte is now 8th in the table, but has at least two games in hand on all playoff teams in the Eastern Conference.

2)  Colorado and that Loss: Much will be written and said about this loss in the coming days.  I think the response from Pablo Mastroeni says it best:

3)  Rumors: Transfer rumors are soooooo much fun.  There is conjecture and supposition but until something is actually confirmed by the club, it is just that: rumor.  Is Shane O'Neill on his way out of Colorado?  You know, probably.  But until the Rapids make it official, I am not going to get too worked up about it.

4)  And a Trialist: Rapids beat writer Marco Cummings dropped this little nugget today:

Johnson is a 32 year old defensive midfielder who has made over 450 appearances in English Football including three full seasons in the Premier League.  The question I would have would be whether or not the Rapids need another D-Mid out there?  They would seem to be set with Marcelo Sarvas, Sam Cronin, Nick LaBrocca and Lucas Pittinari in the fold at that spot, but perhaps this is seen more as a depth move for the Rapids.  At this point it is all conjecture until he puts pen to paper and signs a contract.
