MLS All-Star Roster Announced. Drew Moor Makes The Team

During halftime of the USA v Cuba match, the rest of the All-Star roster was released.

Pablo Mastroeni truly has a difficult job.  Honestly, any head coach does in Major League Soccer.  Trying to come up with a winning formula, balancing player egos, and fans who think they know better has got to be brutal.  I don't envy any coach and especially the Colorado Rapids Gaffer who has to put together the All Star Roster.

On Monday of this week we found out the Fan XI and Commissioner Picks and today Mastroeni announced the rest of the squad that will participate in Commerce City on Wednesday, July 29.  If you need a refresher, here is who was announced on Monday:

GK: Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

DEF: DaMarcus Beasley (Houston Dynamo), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City)

MID: Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Benny Feilhaber (Sporting Kansas City), Steven Gerrard (LA Galaxy), Kaka (Orlando City), Frank Lampard (New York City FC), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)

F: Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders), Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders), David Villa (New York City FC)

A couple of notes on this:

1)  This is not necessarily the Starting XI as that decision, along with formation, will be made by Mastroeni

2)  Just because a name is on this list does not mean that they will participate.  Injuries and fitness will play a role in this as well.  If the USMNT make the Gold Cup Final, it could mean that several names on this list may not be fit enough to participate or if they do, their participation may be limited.  But again, this decision will be made by Mastroeni (and I assume input from the home club of the player).

Without further adieu, here are the additional players named to the roster by Mastroeni:

GK: David Ousted (Vancouver Whitecaps)

DEF: Chris Tierney (New England Revolution), Laurent Ciman (Montreal Impact), Chad Marshall (Seattle Sounders), Drew Moor (Colorado Rapids), Tony Beltran (Real Salt Lake)

MID: Fabian Castillo (FC Dallas)

F: Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC), Kei Kamara (Columbus Crew SC)

And don't forget, there are numerous other activities taking place during All-Star Week.  You can click here for a complete list.
