The Colorado Rapids will look to wrap up the 2015 edition of the Rocky Mountain Cup as Real Salt Lake visit Dick's Sporting Goods Park for the first time this season. The Rapids had a chance to defeat RSL in Utah on June 7th, but Dillon Powers missed a late penalty kick and the match finished 0-0. With a win, the Rapids would have their first winning streak of the campaign.

Colorado (3-6-9 18 points) are coming off a 2-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps on the weekend. The win was the second over Vancouver this season, with both coming at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Vicente Sanchez and Kevin Doyle both found the scoresheet as the Rapids were victorious on Independence Day. Despite the Rapids still being bottom of the Western Conference, the win was undeniably a big boost for team morale.

Real Salt Lake (5-6-8, 23 points) currently find themselves in 9th place in the Western Conference, despite being unbeaten in their last 3 games. RSL are coming off a 1-1 draw at home against Orlando City. Kaka was shown red but Real were unable to take full advantage as both clubs settled for a share of the spoils.

After a congested fixture list in June, the Rapids have only three league fixtures during the month of July. After the RSL home match, the Rapids travel to Seattle to play the Sounders for the third time this season. Dick's Sporting Goods Park will be hosting the 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game on July 29, the first time Colorado has hosted the marquee event since 2007.
