If the Charlotte Independence were going to make a move, now is the time. The Colorado Rapids USL affiliate is about to begin a four game stretch, all at home, and for a team like the Independence, this is massive. The Independence play the Pittsburgh Riverhounds who are currently fourth in the table with two games in hand on the Independence.
For Charlotte, the goal is simple: collect all three points
The Eastern Conference Table:
|Louisville City FC||20||11||5||1||5|
|Harrisburg City Islanders||14||9||4||3||2|
|Saint Louis FC||13||10||3||3||4|
|New York Red Bulls II||13||12||3||5||4|
|Toronto FC II||9||10||2||5||3|
What To Watch For:
1) A Venue Change: The big news out of Charlotte this week was that their Home Pitch of Ramblewood Soccer Complex would not be ready in time for the match this weekend. This is certainly a disappointment for the club and supporters alike, but you only get once chance to make the first match at Ramblewood special, and if it requires an extra week, so be it.
2) A Busy Time: Charlotte has a very busy couple of days ahead of them. They take on the Riverhounds this Saturday and then jet up to Boston to play New England Revolution in the Fourth Round proper of the US Open Cup. And they follow that up with another home match on the 20th. Squad rotation will be key for the Independence to have success in a critical part of their season.
3) Four in a Row: The Independence have four in a row at home and although they have been a bit nomadic this year in where they have played, that is looking like it is coming to an end next weekend. (Ramblewood is scheduled to open now on the 20th). But with four matches in a row in front of their home fans, now is the time.
