This has not been the best of seasons for the Colorado Rapids. They are currently in tenth place in the Major League Soccer Western Conference and have only two wins since July 2014. But some good news out today as it was announced that forward Gabriel Torres had been named to the Panamanian provisional Gold Cup Roster.

The Gold Cup will be held in the United States from July 7-26, 2015
For Torres, this has been like night and day compared to last year. After a very poor 2014, he has rebounded very nicely with four goals to go along with two assists for a Rapids team that is truly struggling for goals. Although he is listed as a striker, he has moved more into a midfield role with the additions of Kevin Doyle and Luis Solignac. And as the lone Rapids representative on a Gold Cup roster (provisional or otherwise) this is a nice honor for Torres and a recognition for his improved form.
