It was cold.
It was wet.
It was windy.
And yet it was most satisfying as the Colorado Rapids picked up a crucial 1-0 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps at a cold, wet, and windy Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The match marked the debut of Luis Solignac and Kevin Doyle, but it was a 51st minute goal from Lucas Pittinari (off an AMAZING pass from Gabriel Torres) that did the work. Clint Irwin was solid as usual and for the Rapids they win brought their record to 2-2-7 on the year.
The match was not without controversy as the Whitecaps were called for a foul in a wall on a shot that went in the goal. But at the end of the day, the Rapids grabbed their first win at home in 302 days and now have a bit of momentum and a 5 match unbeaten run as they head to Seattle to play the Sounders this Wednesday.
So who was your Man of the Match? Was it Irwin or Torres or Pittinari? Let your voice be heard!
