GAME RECAP: Colorado Rapids 1:0 Vancouver Whitecaps

New, 12 comments

So another streak ended tonight.....the home winless streak.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

On a brutal Saturday night in Commerce City, the Colorado Rapids ended their winless streak at home against Vancouver Whitecaps with a 1-0 victory.  For the Rapids, it has been a hell of a long time coming, but it was a good win that was deserved as they were the better team on the night and they were able to hold onto a lead.  The Rapids took the lead on a goal from Lucas Pittinari (off an unbelievable back-heel from Gabriel Torres) and some solid goalkeeping from Clint Irwin.  This season has not been easy, but after 11 games, the Rapids now sit 2-2-7 and are in the middle of the playoff chase.  Hope and possibility are in abundance for the Burgundy Boys and there is much to celebrate in Commerce City tonight.

I have a number of things I could say on this match, but this seems most appropriate:
