Colorado Rapids vs Vancouver Whitecaps: How to Watch, TV Information, Live Stream and More

New, 50 comments

The Caps are coming to town in the start of Cascadia week.

Isaiah Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Rapids and Vancouver Whitecaps meet for the first time in 2015 and for the Rapids it is the first of three consecutive matches against Cascadia opponents and for the Caps it is a chance to get a win on the road against a team who is struggling at home.

The Goal for the Rapids:  Get your first win at home since July 2014.

What To Watch For

1)  A Home Win: For the love of all that is holy in this world, please oh please, can the Rapids get a home victory.  Their last home win came against a club that is no longer in existence.  The Rapids have been close, but they have also had moments of madness at home.  End the streak tonight Lads.  End it now.

2)  Those Inexplicable Moments: In the match against San Jose Earthquakes it really felt like the club checked out for the first half of the match.  Against Seattle Sounders, it really seemed like the club shot their wad after the first half.  For what ever reason, the team has these inexplicable moments where they either forget to play or have a breakdown that leads to the other team scoring.  It has to stop now.

3)  The New Toys: All of that being said, the Rapids have not had a striker pairing in Luis Solignac and Kevin Doyle with so much potential since the days of Conor Casey and Omar Cummings.  Solignac should be completely fit and ready to go whereas Doyle is a bit more of a question mark.  Regardless, I expect to see both players feature at some point tonight.

4)  The Weather: Weather is always a factor at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and according to Weather Underground there is a 39% chance of a Thunderstorm at kick-off with humidity at 70% and a temp at 56 degrees.  Will there be another rain delay?  Will we need read MLS rules on postponement?  Let's hope not....Memorial Weekend games are always massive crowds at DSGP and I would hate to see a delay happen.

Predicted Starting XI:

The big question going into this one is how Doyle will feature.  Will he start?  Will he come off the bench?  I think he does play, but probably not at the start.  Here is my predicted Starting XI:

Clint Irwin, Marc Burch, Drew Moor, Axel Sjoberg, Michael Harrington, Lucas Pittinari, Sam Cronin, Juan Ramirez, Dillon Powers, Gabriel Torres, Solignac.
