The Colorado Rapids have had a busy week transaction wise with the introduction of Kevin Doyle and today it was announced that the team had recalled Marlon Hairston from the Charlotte Independence and had loaned out Ben Newnam.

For Hairston, this is a pleasant homecoming for him.  He had made six appearances for the Independence and picked up USL Player of the Week during his stint in Charlotte and also grabbed a goal and an assist while in North Carolina.

Newnam made one appearance going for the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw with New York Red Bulls in April but with the return to health of players along  the back line, getting the young defender minutes was critical.  The only strange thing with this signing is that he was signed by Charlotte in January, signed by the Rapids in March and now loaned back in May.  It is truly the definition of #OneClub.
