Transfer Silliness: Rapids In For Another Striker

Reports out of Scotland have linked the Rapids with another striker.

Transfer season is a little bit like the Holiday Season.  There are all sorts of rumors, innuendo, possibilities...the gift that keeps on giving.  Regardless of the level of truth to it....

So if it is to be believed, our very own Colorado Rapids could be after Celtic Striker Anthony Stokes.  So what do we know about Stokes?  He has been with Celtic in Scotland since 2010 and has made 134 appearances with 58 goals and has also represented the Republic of Ireland 9 times.

I guess the big question is, do the Rapids need another striker?  They have signed Kevin Doyle and Luis Solignac, let alone having Gabriel Torres, Dominique Badji, Charles Eloundou, Caleb Calvert and Vicente Sanchez that can play up front.  You have to imagine that Doyle and Solignac are starters, so the question becomes whether Stokes would have a place on this team.

Regardless of whether this is true or not, it sure is a hell of a lot of fun to be linked to a caliber of player like a Stokes.  He is young (26), but would require a multi-million dollar transfer fee.  And with the players the Rapids currently have, is his (reported) transfer fee worth it?

Let us know Rapids fans!  Do you like a (possible) move for Stokes?  Or are the Rapids set up front?  Hit us up in the comment section!
