Colorado Rapids vs New England Revolution.
Not exactly fierce rivals, but they are part of the original 10 and have met over forty times in Major League Soccer including last years 3-0 drubbing in Foxboro by the Revs. And if you remember that loss started the (near) record winless streak that the Rapids are on. The Rapids are 0-12-5 in their last 17, but they are remaining positive and looking at this as they are currently on a modest three game unbeaten run.
What is the goal today for the Rapids: score and win. Anything else is not acceptable.
What To Watch For:
1) Brother, Can I Buy A Goal? It has been since October 11 for the Rapids to see themselves on the scoreboard. I know that they are creating chances and getting oh so close, but the time for talk has long since passed. The Lads need to find that creativity and put it in the net. A goal would do so much: it would life the spirits of the team and supporters who have supported this team through this terrible, terrible spell of form.
2) The Revs Are Back: I don't think they really went anywhere, but they are unbeaten in two and looked much, much better against the San Jose Earthquakes in their last match. And with a team that boasts the talent that they do, they were not going to stay down long.
3) Speaking of Streaks: The Rapids have not conceded a goal in 290 minutes (dating back to last season). So take that MLS! But in all honesty, they have a very good defense right now, but will be challenged today by a good Revs team and it will take a concerted effort by the club to keep the Revs off the score sheet.
