How To Watch: Charlotte Independence vs Harrisburg City Islanders

The Independence are back in action on Friday in hopes of grabbing their first win in franchise history.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The fourth match in Charlotte Independence history is this Friday at 5:30 PM as they take on the Harrisburg City Islanders.  It is been a challenging start for the Colorado Rapids USL affiliate with a 1-2-0 start for their efforts.  Here is the Eastern Conference USL Table:

Points Games Played W L D
Richmond Kickers 11 5 3 0 2
Rochester Rhinos 11 5 3 0 2
Charleston Battery 10 4 3 0 1
Louisville City FC 6 4 1 0 3
Pittsburgh Riverhounds 5 4 1 1 2
Wilmington Hammerheads 5 4 1 1 2
New York Red Bulls II 5 5 1 2 2
Saint Louis FC 4 4 1 2 1
Toronto FC II 4 4 1 2 1
Harrisburg City Islanders 3 3 1 2 0
Charlotte Independence 1 3 0 2 1
FC Montreal 0 3 0 3 0

What To Watch For:

1) Charles Eloundou is back in Colorado: The Rapids recalled their speedy forward this week from Charlotte after he had played nearly 230 minutes over three games.  One of the main purposes for his loan to Charlotte was to get him fitness and it appears that has been successful.  As for the Independence, they need to ask themselves who are they going to start in his place?

2) Not time to panic:  Yes, the Independence have not had quite the start that they would have wanted, but they have played the first place, third place and sixth place team in the table with only one of those coming at home.  There is plenty of time to get on a roll.

3) Finishing chances: It seems that it is a problem throughout the #OneClub and that is finishing chances as they are presented.  The Independence had 10 shots on goal and could not get one in the net.  It does not matter how strong the defense is if they are not burying those shots in the back of the net.

4) A chance at a W: Look at the Table.  This is a winnable game against a team that, similarly, has not gotten off to the start they were hoping for.  In front of the home crowd, this is a great chance for Charlotte to get that W.
