During the LA Galaxy vs Seattle Sounders match yesterday, the USMNT roster was released for this Wednesday's friendly with Mexico and to no ones surprise, there was not a Colorado Rapids player named. Here is the full roster:
Defenders: Ventura Alvarado (Club America), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC), Greg Garza (Club Tijuana), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Michael Orozco (Puebla), Brek Shea (Orlando City SC), DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham Hotspur)
Midfielders: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Mix Diskerud (New York City FC), Miguel Ibarra (Minnesota United FC), Lee Nguyen (New England Revolution)
Forwards: Juan Agudelo (New England Revolution), Julian Green (Hamburg), Jordan Morris (Stanford University), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy)
1) Wondo? Again? I wonder what pictures that Wondolowski has of Jurgen Klinsmann. That can be the only reason that he continues to be called up. You cannot tell me that he is one of the five best forwards that we have. I get that Jozy Altidore is suspended, but Wondo? Seriously?
2) Rapids not represented: I know this is not a bit shock, but the Rapids did not get a player on the squad. I would have thought that Clint Irwin or perhaps Dillon Powers would have gotten a look especially with their play this year. I know that both players had down years in 2014, but their play has been solid to start 2015 and warranted a look.
So Rapids fans, what do you think of the roster? Should Irwin or Powers or perhaps Dillon Serna deserve a look? Hit us up in the comments below
