Everything was going for the Rapids.
Fan Base behind them
Almost sold out park.
And yet, the Rapids pull a Rapids.
The have the ball. 21 shots. 7 on goal. And nothing to show for it. My thoughts:
The Defense: The back four along with Clint Irwin was solid all day and were able to deal with a NYCFC offense that was largely poor, and the Rapids were able to deal with chances as they came. It was a second clean sheet for the Burgundy Boys and that should be praised.
The Offense: At home. Full House. And you can't score. Putrid. What a let down and for those supporters who love this club--you have a right to be pissed after that one.
An Opportunity Squandered. The Rapids had a chance to break the duck with a win tonight, but could not generate a goal let alone a win. This is not on Pablo as the players have to find a way to score at home. But it has been since October 11 in the 30th minute that the Rapids have scored. Not good.
The Rapids had a chance to grab three points and send their supporters home happy, instead they settle for another draw and run their winless streak to 0-12-4 and have not won since July 2014. Their next match is next Saturday at Houston against the Dynamo.
