The Colorado Rapids today announced that striker Deshorn Brown was sold to Norwegian First Division team Valerenga in a deal that is being phrased as giving the Rapids flexibility and Brown a move that he desired.
#Rapids96 trade Brown to Vålerenga. Thanks @strika09 for your hard work with our club, and good luck! Article Here: http://t.co/xMf3lrbbaZ

Brown was entering his third year in Major League Soccer and had led the Rapids in goals the previous two campaigns. The back to back 10 goal seasons for Brown were the most by a Rapids player since 2010 when they were led by Omar Cummings. This is a loss for the Rapids as replacing his goal scoring prowess will be difficult, but they will be relying players such as Gabriel Torres and Dom Badji. For Torres, much of the goal scoring duties will fall to him, but it will be important that the entire team helps to pick up the slack if the Rapids are going to return to the playoffs.
