Boss to Rowdies, Buddle trials with Galaxy

Catching up with the nearly departed

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

In case you missed it, the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL have picked up former Rapids reserve defender  Gale Agbossoumonde. Gale played in 13 games for Toronto FC in 2013 before coming to the Rapids. He started several games for the reserves, but never cracked the roster at the big club.

Edson Buddle is currently on trial with the MLS Cup champion LA Galaxy. Buddle played 18 games and scored two goals in 2014 for the Rapids, but his option for 2015 was not renewed, nor was he picked in the re-entry or waiver drafts in December. He sits on 100 career MLS goals, one of only 8 players in MLS history to crack triple digits. With a striker pool of Gyasi Zardes, Robbie Keane, Bradford Jamieson IV,and Alan Gordon, plus some lesser names like Charlie Rugg, it' might be tough for Buddle, age 33, to crack that lineup. Will he get picked up by the Galaxy? Or have another go with a new team in need of a proven striker, albeit one in the sunset of his career?

Former Rapids Thomas Piermayr and Kamani Hill are currently listed with 'Unattached FC', so drop us at Burgundy Wave a line if you hear any news on these players. Both should be useful cogs on somebodies team.
