Rapids to Play USL Side Sacramento Republic FC in Friendly

The Burgundy Boys will be making their second trip to Sacramento to play Republic FC.

A crazy day in Commerce City as the Colorado Rapids had a couple of big announcements, the first of which was the myriad of roster moves but they also announced that they will be playing USL side Sacramento Republic FC in a pre-season friendly.

The match will take place on Saturday, February 13 at Bonney Field on the grounds of Cal Expo in Sacramento and this will be the second trip to Sacramento for the Rapids.  The Rapids reserves played Republic on June 20, 2014 and dropped a 4-3 decision to the home team.  The atmosphere at Bonney Field was electric and both clubs offered a very entertaining match.

For the Rapids, this is another step in their preparations for the 2016 season.  They will also be participating in the 2016 Desert Diamond Cup in Tucson, Arizona from February 17-27 where they will play fellow MLS sides New England Revolution, Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas City.

Burgundy Wave will be featuring live coverage from Bonney Field this February for our second live trip to Sacramento.
