Major League Soccer has concluded the bulk of its off-season drafts as Stage Two of the Re-Entry draft came and went last week (the Rapids passed in Stage Two of the Re-Entry Draft). There is still one more biggie left, the MLS Superdraft on January 14, but as the Colorado Rapids head into the MLS Combine it is time to take a look at their roster and see what holes still need to be filled:
Goalkeepers
John Berner, Clint Irwin, Zac MacMath
Defenders
Marc Burch, Joseph Greenspan, Marlon Hairston, Axel Sjoberg, Sean St. Ledger, Jared Watts
Midfielders
Micheal Azira, Sam Cronin, Marco Pappa, Dillon Powers, Juan Ramirez, Marcelo Sarvas, Dillon Serna
Forwards
Dominique Badji, Caleb Calvert, Kevin Doyle, Luis Solignac
The Rapids are allowed 28 roster spots and have 20 filled and the Burgundy Boys (currently) have the following picks:
Round 1, Second Pick, Second Overall
Round 2, Second Pick, 22nd Overall
Round 3, Second Pick, 43rd Overall
Round 4, Second Pick, 63rd Overall
Even if all four picks stick with the Rapids, they will still be looking to pick up more players and I expect them to be active when the transfer window opens next month.
So what do you think Rapids fans? What would you like to see the Rapids do and who would you like to see them pick up? Hit us up in the comment section and let us know!
