Highlight of the Year: Hairston was named to the USL player of the week in May when he picked up a goal and assist against Richmond Kickers.
Lowlight of the Year: Honestly, a complete lack of playing time for Hairston really hampered his year. In 2014, Hairston made 22 appearances, but this year that was cut in half (including time in Charlotte). The veteran leanings of the Rapids coaching staff meant playing time for a player like Hairston was much less this season.
2015 Grade (C+): I really think that Hairston is one of the cornerstones of this team, but several questions remain: what is his position--defender or midfielder and does he have a future with this club. A player like Hairston is someone that should be counted on going forward, but again, the Rapids do not fancy young players.
2016 Outlook: Hairston has to be looked at as someone who should get a shot at a starting position. He just has to. But the question will be, going into 2016, what is that position?
