A lot has been made of the Colorado Rapids ability to develop (and retain) your talent over the last couple of weeks in Colorado. With the possibility of Dillon Powers moving to Reading FC soon, many Rapids fans are wondering if the team can build talent and retain it.
Honestly, I am not sure if they can do either, but one thing they can hang their hat on is that three members of the organization were called up for International Duty this break, and all three of them should be starters in 2015.
Midfielder Dillon Serna--is with the USMNT U-23 squad in Recife and Belem to take on Brazil as part of a 19 player squad in preparation for a home and home series with Columbia to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Forward Kevin Doyle--is with the Republic of Ireland for their Euro 2016 Qualification playoff series against Bosnia-Herezegovina. If Ireland wins this series they qualify for the Euro Championship in France next summer.
Defender Maynor Figueroa--is with Honduras as they take on Canada and Mexico in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying
That the Rapids have three players on international duty is good for the club and the experience should help them as the Rapids look to build towards 2016.
