The Colorado Rapids conclude their 2015 season with a trip to Providence Park to take on Portland Timbers with a terrific opportunity to play spoiler again. The Rapids are coming off a shocking 2-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday night and will be brimming with confidence going into this one. This is a big game for the Timbers as they know any sort of result will get them into the playoffs. Needless to say, there is much to play for in Portland.
The Goal for the Rapids: Play the spoiler again.
What to Watch For
1) Pablo's Last Game: While this is the final game of the 2015 season, it could also be the final game for Pablo Mastroeni as manager. This season has been a failure of epic proportions and much of that blame should fall on Pablo and his inability to manage a team. Will he return or will he be sacked? My gut says he comes back and the Rapids continue to struggle in 2016.
2) The Spoiler: No one saw the win in KC coming and the Rapids delayed the playoff chances of Sporting. It was a solid performance by the Lads and they have a chance to win another one in Portland and spoil the party there. On Tuesday I would have said there was no chance that the Rapids win this game. I am upgrading that to a slight chance.
3) The Golden Boot: Right now, Kevin Doyle is leading the Rapids golden boot race in what is the ugliest race in history. With just five goals, Doyle is tops on the team but Vicente Sanchez and Gabriel Torres are just one goal behind him. Who will will that race? And does it matter when your offense is that impotent?

Predicted Starting XI
The Rapids had a chance to win this match, but they have to trot out the right lineup. My sense is that little changes from Wednesday:
Zac MacMath, Maynor Figueroa, Sean St. Ledger, Axel Sjoberg, Marlon Hairston, Marcelo Sarvas, Lucas Pittinari, Dominique Badji, Dillon Powers, Vicente Sanchez, Kevin Doyle.
