Sporting Kansas City 0:2 Colorado Rapids--As Expected

Um, so that happened.

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Dear Colorado Rapids,

I was wrong.  I was convinced you had zero shot at beating Sporting Kansas City.  I am wrong.

But so is the rest of the soccer world.  No one, and I mean no one, saw this coming.

So of course, the Rapids went to KC and beat Sporting.

Of course,

Your friend,

John

So yeah.  That totally happened tonight.  The Colorado Rapids did something that no one thought possible and defeated Sporting KC and in the process through a massive wrench into the plans of every Western Conference team.  The Rapids were led by some great goalkeeping from Zac MacMath and a goal a piece from Dillon Powers and Marcelo Sarvas.  It was also the ninth win of the year for the Rapids and gives them loads of confidence going into Providence Park to play Portland on Sunday.

So the Rapids basically give the middle finger to narrative and swipe a massive win.

Well done Lads.
