Disaster.
Unthinkable.
Horrible.
The U-23 USMNT crashed out of Olympic Qualifying today in a shock 2-0 loss to Honduras. There is not much that can be said about this one other than the USA blew their chance at redemption. After qualifying for the 2012 games ended in disaster, the assumption was that the United States would fix it this time and qualify for 2016.
They did not.
So many things could be said, and certainly will be said, but this tweet says it all:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Honduras knocks off the U.S. U-23s to qualify for the Olympics. USA must now beat loser of Mexico/Canada, then Colombia, to qualify.</p>— Ives Galarcep (@SoccerByIves) <a href="https://twitter.com/SoccerByIves/status/652952657779294208">October 10, 2015</a></blockquote>

Where do the lads go from here? Well, it starts by winning in the third place game. And from there a brutal tie with Columbia. Doable? Sure. Likely? Well, that is for you to decide.
