2014 Review: Match 23--Rapids at FC Dallas

The 2014 Review trucks along as the Rapids headed to Frisco for the last time in the 2014 season on August 9.

Broken Record, meet the 2014 Colorado Rapids.  2014 Colorado Rapids, meet Broken Record.

In the season ending "oh-fer" that the Rapids were on there were only a handful of matches were they were completely out-classed.  The August 9 trip to Frisco, Texas to take on FC Dallas should not have been one of them.  But like many times in the final 14 matches of the year, the Rapids found a way to go down on the scoreboard before the match even got started.  It was 2-0 to Dallas after 11 minutes and ended in a 3-1 defeat to the Hoops.

Record after 23 Matches:  (8-9-6)

Hero of the Match:  Uh, I guess we will go with the goal scorer. Not that it mattered a whole lot, but Gabriel Torres picked up a consolation goal late in the match and since it was their first goal since July 25, that should be celebrated.

Goat of the Match:  That Defense.  I will not call out anyone specifically on this one, except to say this: Marvell Wynne is not a center back.  And you can't be foolish enough as a coach to think that you can "manage" your way through the loss of a starting center back (Shane O'Neill) by moving a right back inside.
