2015 MLS Mock Draft: Colorado Rapids pick defenders

SB Nation blogs did an MLS mock draft. Burgundy Wave bolstered the Rapids defense.

The 2015 MLS SuperDraft is quickly approaching, and that means it's mock draft season. As we do every season, all the MLS blogs on SB Nation got together and put together a mock draft featuring picks from the fans of each team. This season, it's been said that it's a rather weak class, and the Rapids don't have a pick until quite late in the round after losing their first-round pick in the Danny Mwanga trade and gaining a late pick from the Oscar Pareja fiasco.

That in mind, the Rapids probably aren't going to be gaining a starter in the draft, at least not an immediate one. Since defensive depth is easily the biggest issue on the team after last season, even following the acquisitions of Bobby Burling and Micheal Harrington. So with the 19th and 26th picks in the draft (the late second-rounder that Rapids had was sent to Philadelphia for Zac MacMath) I selected two defenders.

Boyd Okwuonu, a center back, was my pick at 19. He's rather short for a center back, but he's got good defensive ability and also represents a bit of revenge for FC Dallas picking Tesho Akindele last season as he's a former member of the Dallas academy. Jordan Murrell was my other selection, a versatile defender out of Syracuse who can play both center back and outside back.

What positions do you want to see bolstered in the draft?
