A wise man once said that you can only try and throw shit at the wall until something sticks for so long until a bunch of said shit eventually starts bouncing off and hitting you smack dab in the face instead.
...Okay, you got me, nobody ever actually said that. It's still the best way to describe the match that the Colorado Rapids played on Friday night. Pablo Mastroeni decided to go with the 'hot hands' (they were more lukewarm than anything after six straight losses) and keep most of the line-up from the Sounders 1-0 loss last time around. Joe Nasco in goal was one of those holdovers, and it took all of 35 seconds for Pablo to regret his decision after Nasco got red carded and earned LA a penalty kick.
Here's a short re-telling of the sequence of events following said red card and penalty award:
- LA goal
- LA goal
- LA goal
- LA goal
- LA goal
- LA goal
Nice. Bring on the Portland Timbers, or something, I guess.
