The Colorado Rapids will look to end a two-game losing streak as they travel to the Lone Star State on Saturday evening to play FC Dallas. The Rapids have seen their playoff position slip after two consecutive defeats to New England and Real Salt Lake. The loss to RSL was extremely hard for Colorado as the Rocky Mountain Cup was at stake.

Colorado (8-8-6) have some work to do if they are to make a playoff push. The month of August features some tough Western Conference match-ups, most of them being on the road. On the weekend, the Rapids could not take advantage of a red card to RSL early in the second half as a Javier Morales strike in the first half was enough for the Utah club to claim victory over their Rocky Mountain neighbors.

FC Dallas (9-7-6) is now in 4th place in the Western Conference courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Chivas USA on Sunday. Fabian Castillo was the hero for the Hoops as he scored just four minutes into the second half. FC Dallas has been in good form lately following a pair of league wins and a draw on the month of July.

On June 7th, the Rapids were on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline as FC Dallas won a thriller at Toyota Park in the final league match before the 2014 FIFA World Cup break. Colorado will need their attacking playmakers to help end the goal scoring drought that has now spanned two matches.
