The Colorado Rapids are in desperate need of a win (or even mere points for that matter) as the Denver-based club has now lost three games in a row. The Rapids are currently out of playoff contention in the Western Conference and nothing less than a result against DC United will suffice.

Colorado (8-9-6) has dropped three straight results to New England, Real Salt Lake, and FC Dallas. There is still a lot of soccer left to be played within MLS, but the Rapids have some very tough fixtures on the horizon against Western Conference opposition. First year head coach Pablo Mastroeni doesn't exactly have time on his side in order to help navigate the club into the playoffs.

DC United (11-7-4) are currently in 2nd place in the Eastern Conference. The capital club has had a good season so far but the Black-and-Red have lost back to back games for the first time this season. Designated Player Eddie Johnson has had a mixed first season with DC and will be suspended for the match against Colorado.

Due to the unbalanced schedule in Major League Soccer, this is Colorado's last game against Eastern Conference opposition. Every remaining fixture will be against teams from the West. While travel might not be an issue, the ability to get results could prove to be tough, as the Western Conference currently boasts stronger sides than the East.
